1/2 to 1 cup of sugar
juice and rind of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons SR flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
2 eggs (separated)
There was a chocolate version of this , which was made in exactly the same way, but omitting the lemon and using 1 tablespoon of cocoa and a heaping tablespoon of flour.
Cream butter and sugar, add beaten yolks and then flour.
Add the lemon juice and rind, then milk. Beat whites stiff then fold in. Stand dish in another of water and cook until set, puffed and brown, about 30-45 minutes.
