Limoncello (Lemon Liqueur)



Grated rind and squeezed juice of four lemons.

750 ml Vodka

22 cups sugar

1 litre water


1. Mix all ingredients together and store in tightly-capped bottles for 2-3 weeks.
2. Strain through a muslin cloth or paper towel-lined sieve and pour back into clean bottles.
3. Seal tightly with a cork or screw-cap.
4. Store for at least a week or up to two months.

To serve, dilute with ice and soda-water.

This is delicious on a hot summer day and can be used neat as a liqueur or as part of a cocktail - dilute with sparkling wine for special occasion bubbles.
